Profile Manager Premium Case Study: A Customer Listing Database

Zenith Aircraft Company is a kit aircraft manufacturer with hundreds
of customers around the world. We operate our own website, which has
become one of our main marketing tools. As part of our website, we
wanted to offer a "customer listing database"
We wanted the ability to:
- provide our existing customers with a way to share information with
each other (share info, photos, etc. about the project).
- monitor our customers' progress and activities, and,
allow potential customers to locate existing customers in their area.
We wanted a system that allowed for all of the above, yet we wanted a
system that required minimal input and work from us (the website
administrator), and allowed for enough customization to make our
"builder listing database" truly useful and attractive to our
customers and potential customers.
Prior to using Profile Manager Premium (PM Premium) we administered our own
static web pages listing our customers, their progress, etc. This
proved to be very labor intensive (first to create the listings, and
then keeping the listings up-to-date), and became less manageable as
our customer base kept growing. Additionally, we did not have the
ability for database searches, limiting the usefulness of the listing
in the first place.
I searched around for a script or program that would allow us to
develop our "builder listing database" but found nothing on the
market that seemed suitable. Scripts were either too confined (with
little ability to customize or expand) or too complex or costly (that
required either programming expertise or a big budget).
I finally found Profile Manager and was amazed to discover that this
was exactly what I had been looking for, with a few extra bonuses
that I didn't even know I was looking for, such as static web pages
for users and administrator functions. (I first downloaded and played
with the basic free version, and quickly decided to purchase the full
version, Profile Manager Premium).
Purchasing PM Premium online was a breeze and I had the basic script
installed and running within an hour from the time I decided to buy
it.
With my very limited knowledge of Perl scripts, I found customizing
PM Premium somewhat confusing, but technical support was always an email
message away and I soon had the script running exactly as I wanted.
Technical support has been truly fantastic! How many software
companies will customize their program for you (for just $45.00
!!??!!). In less than two weeks, we already have more than 120
customers that have created their online profiles and they just love
this new feature that our website offers them!
For a minimal investment of time and money, Profile Manager Premium
has offered a fully "customized" solution. Our new "Builder Listing
Database" is a valuable addition to our website (which increases our
level of customer services and gives us a competitive advantage),
while saving us time on an ongoing basis.
