Author: Company Press Release
Sapona Manufacturing Company, Inc and Celanese Acetate have announced the joint creation of new Celanna brand yarns that will be available globally.
Celanna is a combination of cellulose acetate that is air-entangled yarn with various other fibers, resulting in enhanced physical properties and fashion design features. Within the Celanna brand, according to Sapona, consumers will initially enjoy fabric blends of Celanese acetate and nylon fibers.
These synergistic blends create aesthetically pleasing knit and woven fabrics that meet consumers\' demanding requirements. Garments made from Celanna blends offer comfort and performance, feel smooth against the skin, have a luxurious, flattering drape and a soft, fluid hand. Celanna is breathable and moves moisture well. The addition of nylon to the mix yields a strong, extensible fiber that is easy to process. For extra stretch, Celanna blends are also offered as air-covered yarns with spandex.
Easy care Celanna blends open new markets for acetate, such as seamless bodywear, because they are washable in some constructions. Other end use markets for Celanna knits and wovens include softly tailored women\'s and men\'s sportswear, dresses, men\'s contemporary shirts, sweater knits for men and women and upholstery.
The fashion design opportunities with Celanna are unlimited. The yarns are also available in several combinations including acetate/polyester and acetate/ rayon, allowing for a full range of bright, clear colors with both disperse and acid dyes.
Sapona offers several yarns that produce cross dye heather and union dye fabrics. Particularly popular in today\'s market are black Celanna combinations that result in soft, color-block effects. Celanna is now available in denier ranges from 40 to 400.
Said Dean Lail, president of Sapona: \"Under agreement with Celanese Acetate, Sapona will be the sole source for several acetate blends under the Celanna trademark. Sapona has put forth extensive development effort and capital expenditure to produce new Celanna quality yarns.
\"Sapona and Celanese are teaming up to add value to the entire supply chain. Together they are developing yarns, fabrics and processes that will help speed up the introduction of a broad range of new knit and woven apparel products,\" he concluded.
