It all begins with a vision of the membership
database. You are the builder of your community, and you will define what kind
of shape your membership database should take. Then PM Premium will turn your
vision into reality.
First, think about what kind of information
you would like to collect from your users. Think, what information your users
would want to search and see about other users. Think, what a user's profile
page should look like. Check out your competitor’s registration form
to see if you might be missing out anything, but don’t forget this is
your vision, you don’t need to follow anybody else’s path. While
others can help you develop this vision, it is critical that you make the first
attempt of defining this vision.

Make a final list of all membership database
fields to be included. Then follow through intuitive Database Fields Wizard to
add these fields to your new database!
Import Database:
If you have a list of users in another
database or spreadsheet, now it is very easy to load them into your PM Premium
membership database. The Import tool let's you enter as much or as little of
user information as you can. For instance, if you only have user name and emails,
that's fine, the import tool will handle remaining fields for you. If not entered,
registration and modification dates will be set as of today's date. It will
also automatically create unique authentication IDs.

Once you submit the new members to the
import tool, it will complete the data, and then will give you a preview of
the final version that will be loaded. The membership import tool will also
check the integrity of the data for you automatically and let you know if any
of the entries have any problems.
Export Database:
Exporting your membership database to
another medium such as MS Excel is effortless with PM Premium. The export utility
will first give you a list of all database fields. Using checkboxes, you can
select the fields you would like to be exported. Then define the delimiter
character to separate the output field. You can also restrict your query to
particular type of users. When you submit the query, you will get the results
in text format.
Export tool can also be used for reporting purposes.
For instance:
* To get a list of cities you have members from, you can simply check "city" field
and check "Remove duplicates". Then, you can place this list in your site or
in another medium.
* You can use some other more sophisticated mailing list software to send your
newsletters. Simply check email field and restrict results to only members who
has checked the "Add me mailing list" checkbox.

Backup and Recover:
An easy-to-use "Backup and Recover" utility
is integrated into the PM Premium admin application. You can simply login to
your admin area and click on "backup" button, this will take a snapshot of
the member database and save it in a separate directory. You can place the
backup directory anywhere in your server.
Let's say you are doing a mass export/import
of users in your system. You can easily go to backup page and save the current
database before doing anything else. During your mass import/export, if anything
goes wrong, restoring the database is only one click away!
Even though Admin backup utility is very
useful in many conditions like this, it will only save the database locally.
We recommend copying the complete PM Premium directory to another machine periodically
as a more reliable backup method.
